Amazing Stay! We were a group of 5 girls and stayed in the 3 bedroom house. It was wonderful. The house was clean and cosy. It’s a nice traditional place with a garden. Better to stay here than any other luxury hotel. Amazing place to sit and relax since there is no noise. The owner, Mr. Alexis welcomed us and provided us with drinks and fruit. He also answered any questions we had regarding the place and provided us information about places we can visit. Our rooms were cleaned and tidied everyday. The location of Kasteli Studios is near the port and the Chania center, you only need to walk 2-3 minutes to get to the old port. I would totally recommend the place and will come back for sure when we are in Chania again.

What else can I say about this place? My boyfriend and I went in Chania in August 2010 and stayed in one of the studios there. The place was clean, rooms were comfortable, and the whole atmosphere perfect (the tree in the courtyard outside our window, a soft background of greek music..).We also had free wifi connection and free phone calls for Italy.Apart from this, I have to mention the owner of Kasteli studios, mr. Alexandros: he was so polite, the perfect guide for the trips we did during our resort in Crete. He counselled us where to go and the most beautiful places we could see, and when we came back in the evening, he always asked us how was the day and often stopped and spoke with us, offering fruits and coffee. One of the most kind people I have ever met in my all life.Go there, it will be a fantastic experience!

I highly recommend staying here. It is just a few small blocks (less than 1minute) from the port where the restaurants overlook the beautiful water. It is comfortably located in a serene environment and the owner Aleco is endlessly kind and hospitable. I have been staying at his hotel every time I come to Crete and have not had any bad experiences. You definitely are getting the best value for your money given the location, cleanliness and service.

This was our second stay at Kastelli, Alex was so helpful and the house we booked was delightful! The location is excellent, only short walk (1 minute) to old port and morning coffee! Restaurants and shops very close. Plenty of room for our family of 6. Small studios and apartments are also available. Chania is one of the most beautiful places in Greece and should be on every itinerary! Kastelli offers accommodation that is clean, comfortable and in an excellent location. We will return! ( just a note- beds are VERY FIRM)

We rented one of the larger houses for 6 people – it was just wonderful. Alex, our host, was incredibly helpful and generous. I would stay here again anytime! The house was very comfortable – with a beautiful courtyard where we could sit for early morning coffee.

Recently retired couple, CanadaWe had the occasion of staying a few nights in one of the studios that Alex (the manager) rents. The appartment is spacious, well furnished, clean, and quiet (in a back alley full of flowers). And yes, parking for your vehicule (mucho rare in Greece). A/C and all the fixtures were fully functional and the maid service very good.Alex really gets out of his way to make you feel welcome and offers good suggestions and directions, just ask he’ll provide. And I’m not an apple-polisher ! All in all, we were lucky to have found this accomodations in Chania (prononced Hania).Only 2 small inconveniences: a bit hard to find (do not trust your GPS !). Il you can call before showing up and he will tell you how to navigate the Streets (after that, it is a breeze). And the bed is quite hard, to our preference.of course, but not to keep me from a good sleep.Chania is a swell place to radiate about the western part of Crete, where the beauty of Crete shows up; has all the attractions of a village but with all services of a large town. Glad we went. Thanks again Alex.

What can we say about Alex our life saviour! Not only did he help us when our car wouldn’t start 200m from the appartment at midnight but my boyfriend had an ear infection so he brought us to the doctor and made sure he would see us. He knows the surroundings inside out and made very good recommendations. The appartment is very clean and confortable. Definetly would recommend and go back!

Definitely worth of recomending to stay at Chania. Comfortable and cozy apartments, decorated woth local taste – meeting a three star hotel standards. The owner speaks good English and is always eager to help or to have a short chat about local turistic particulars. The partments located very near to the port and main restaurat court of Chania.

We stayed in a studio run by Alex for 9 nights and would thoroughly recommend all of his properties in the courtyard, plus the pension just around the corner, where his office is located. A great welcome and attentive service was standard. Alex was very efficient, making sure everything was OK. The Studio was very clean and the right size for 2 people. WiFi was excellent. It’s true, you are only 2 mins walk from the busy harbour front but the courtyard is silent! A great night’s sleep will be guaranteed, and I’m a light sleeper!Tavernas on the harbour are great, but touristy. Head south a street or two and eat with the locals.

We were not originally going to stay here but the hotel we were looking for was full and recommended Kasteli. They had a studio which was excellent with everything you could want apart from a TV. The room was clean and tidy and the price was reasonable with the addition of private parking which was important in that area. It is also in a great location, handy for the port and all its restaurants and old town, give it a try.

I picked Kasteli more or less at random but I’m so glad that I did. The reasons that this is the place you should stay are:1) Location. It is exactly centrally located to everywhere you would want to be in Chania, including being only steps from the harbor. However, since it is on the hill in a courtyard it manages to be surprsingly quiet. After seeing the chaos in most of the harbor and adjacent areas I realized how much I lucked out by picking the quietest possible place that was still very close to everything/2) The kitchenettes. At least my room, and probably all of them, have a refrigerator, sink, hot plate, and dishes and silverware. This is perfect for having breakfast at the place and storing your restaurant leftovers.3) The owner, Alex, will help you do anything you need, including renting a car. He has a small parking area which they will deliver the cars to and pick them up from. He’s also always happy to make coffee, and it is real coffee, fresh ground and in a french press, not the terrible stuff they are mostly serving around town.Of course this is not the place to stay if you want free massages, a free continental breakfast, room service, a doorman and all of that, but for the more independent yet discerning traveler it is exactly what you want.

Immaculate traditional style apartments in their own secluded, walled square. In the old part of Chania and with easy access to harbour, shops, museum, market. Private off-street parking for those with a hire car a real plus. Alex a perfect host. No more hotels for us when staying in Chania – the Kasteli Studios & Apartments provide everything we require for a perfect city visit. (Yes, Chania is a perfect city as well!).

My wife and I have just returned after staying a week at the studios, what a lovely surprise it was, the best bits in no particular order were:A great clean shower, daily maid service, a welcome pack, a Kettle upon request, ample towels, peaceful central location, Alex’s hospitality, very clean throught out , free safe, ample wardrobe space and very important private parking as the roads are really tight. The worst bits Leaving such a wonderful establishment. Highly recomended we will be coming back again.

Spent 3 days here what a gem 2 minute walk to centre but totally secluded and quiet the off road parking is perfect. Our host Alex is a wonderful man knows everywhere in Chania and nothing is too much trouble for this charming man we arrived to find the fridge stocked with wine beer water and soft drinks and also local fruit

Alex went out of his way to be helpful to us even though we weren’t his customers! We stayed at a different apartment from Kasteli. While we were waiting for the owner of our apartment Alex started chatting to us, he was incredibly friendly and helpful. As we were waiting he gave us advice on restaurants and beaches and told us all about the Minoan ruins opposite the apartment, it’s obvious that he loves Hania. What a genuinely lovely guy, we will stay at Kasteli next time
